Home > Vale Keith (Greasy) Mills
Sadly on 21st October the club lost one of its former members.
Keith (Greasy) Mills joined the surf club before he was old enough to obtain his bronze medallion and he showed such ability that he was allowed to compete on an unofficial basis at carnivals. It was not uncommon for him to win or be placed in open surf races.
He gained his bronze medallion in 1948 and dominated the North Coast junior scene. He also featured in many R&R teams and in 1954 was chosen as a member of the Australian team to compete against New Zealand at the Royal Carnival at Bondi.
Keith, brother of club life member John, was one of eight members of the Mills family to serve the Coffs Harbour Surf Life Saving Club.
